TAASEFest is dedicated to showcasing the vibrancy, creativity, and diversity of African animators, their animation and comics. It has created a platform for audiences in the UK to engage with stories from across the continent through screenings and exhibition of short animated films and comic art. By blending moving image with visual storytelling on the page, TAASE celebrates African innovation in both traditional and digital creative forms.
AWANetwork is a creative community and B2B business animations and creative services organisation. TAASEFest is AWANetwork's flagship annual programme, which flows into and alongside an all-round programme which aims to include artist development, workshops, community engagement and certainly cultural exchange.
The African Animated Shorts Experience - was developed in response to ongoing conversations with local residents, artists, young people, and educators who wanted to see more culturally relevant creative opportunities and by involving people not just as audiences but as co-creators, we ensure TAASE is grounded in real community interests and continues to grow as a shared cultural platform in the UK.
